Instagram Line Break Generator

Paste your caption or bio. Blank lines get an invisible character so they survive posting, trailing spaces are trimmed, and runs of empty lines are squeezed to one.

Why blank lines vanish

To most software a blank line is just whitespace: a line break next to another line break. When a caption is cleaned up for posting, runs of whitespace can be collapsed, so two paragraphs quietly become one block.

The fix is to make the empty line not empty. U+2800 is a Braille cell with no dots raised. It looks blank, but it counts as a real character, so nothing collapses it. Step through what happens:

Check the final length in the character counter, since each invisible character counts as one. Need the words themselves? Try the caption enhancer.

Questions people ask

Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?

It happens most with blank lines between paragraphs, and with spaces left at the end of a line before a break. Some app versions and some keyboards trim these when you post. The fix is to make each “empty” line contain an invisible character.

What invisible character does this tool use?

By default the Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800), which looks like a space but isn’t treated as whitespace, so it isn’t collapsed. You can switch to a visible dot or dash if you prefer.

Does this work for bios too?

Yes. Line breaks and blank lines count towards the 150-character bio limit, so check the length after formatting.

Does the invisible character affect screen readers?

Most skip it or read it as a blank. It is safer than filling lines with rows of dots, which get read aloud.
