Instagram Bio Generator

A bio has 150 characters to say who you are, who you’re for and what to do next. Describe yourself or your business; the AI writes four options and counts each one against the limit.

A bio formula that works for almost anyone

  1. What you do, in words a stranger would search: “Ceramicist”, “Vegan bakery”, “Running coach”.
  2. Who it’s for or what makes it different: “for beginners”, “small batches”, “since 1987”.
  3. Proof or personality, one line at most.
  4. What to do next: “New recipes Tuesdays”, “Book below ↓”.

Want a styled word or two? The Instagram font generator makes bold and script letters, but keep your key words in plain text so search can read them.

Questions people ask

What is the Instagram bio character limit?

150 characters. Emojis, spaces and line breaks all count, and some emojis count as two or more characters. Every AI bio here is checked against 150 as it appears.

What should an Instagram bio say?

Three things in plain words: who you are or what you make, who it is for, and what to do next (follow for X, shop below, book a call). Anything else is a bonus.

Can I add line breaks to my bio?

Yes. Type them directly in the app’s Edit profile screen, or copy a bio from here with the breaks included. Line breaks count towards the 150 characters.

Does my name field help search?

Yes. Instagram search looks at your name and username, so a name field like “Maya | Leeds Wedding Photographer” can help people find you. The name field allows 64 characters.

Can I use fancy fonts in my bio?

You can paste Unicode styled letters from the font generator, but screen readers may read them oddly and search won’t match them. Keep key words in normal text.
